Ah...good old Long Beach. I was actually born there, and went to high school at Woodrow Wilson. I won't mention which class, though! Most of LB IS liquifaction central. My family spoke of the 1933 quake there---must have been a doozy. Oddly enough, I only remember the 1952 Tehachapi quake (I was a very little girl), which was strongly felt in Long Beach. Only quake I remember there, but it was frightening. I do remember major land subsidence there---some of it from oil production before they began pumping water into the ground to replace the oil.
