Your link shows a satellite loop that changes with time so there is no record of whatever you were looking at. What I see now is a low pressure center off of Baja (probably upper level cutoff low) with a southerly moist flow to its east....wait...just noticed what you may have seen...I guess you just posted...yes, there are some somewhat unusual ripples along the north side of a cloudless slot... and these ripples extend from Monterrey to Bay area and then east across Nevada. I suspect these types of clouds are not all that unusual and are well understood, but I suppose I don't know the cause myself.
