First of all, I am certain that there is no single "Unified Theory" for earthquake prediction. The sheer number of variables is mind-boggling. What I have been observing, at various times, is sharp geomagnetic shifts, or spikes, that occur in the approximate area of activity approximately 12 hrs prior to some sort of activity in that area. I have also observed that the sharpest spikes (70-100 nT) within a 1-10 minute period are usually followed by some activity, usually in less than a 12 hour time period. I am not certain of the exact mechanism which causes the local or regional magnetic field to behave in this manner, or as to why there is the 12 hour delay.
