Hmm...I'm not re-reading the original post, but there are some level of fluids at various parts of the crust and mantle...but probably deeper fluids are limited and localized? Also, all sorts of fluids in a subduction zone...being carried down with the seafloor sediments.
So, we might have to restart this conversation later and see if we are all talking about the same things.
