For Chris

Hello Chris,

If you need to thaw out, come on out to the Salton Sea. It was over 90 down there today. I was hounding around, and the weather was magnificent. Blue sky. Why I live here. Anza Borrego wild flowers did not go big this year, due to lack of precipitation.

I have abandoned my search for Poway clasts in the PR batholyth. After talking with many people, it is obvious that the PR split the formation. However, I do need to pin down the Poway types down in Ocotillo. I will report more on this.

Seismicity...

I did a run on the times for the 3 mag quakes across the Anza area and found some peaks over a 24 hour time period. The data was collected from SCEC records for that area. I found that certain times of day had more micro hits than others. I did not split the gap, north-south for the data set, and it could be a statistical anomaly. When I algebraically graphed the set, the peaks were at 0530, (the largest number of 3+mags) 1130, 1600 etc....More data to follow.

Not sure if any "time of day" data sets have been studied for this, or any other area. Ofcourse, this is about earth tidal forces versus microseismicity.
I am going to take the whole data set into rms, and come up with a background first. Once I establish the back ground, I can then do some sigmas (summations) and look for a derivative. My best hope now is for Roger to kick me in the ass, and say, "Heres how it is done." Roger?

Thanks,
Glen
