See reference to "Northern CA." Also, my friend in Los Gatos told me her parrot the night prior to the 4.7 San Martin, NoCA quake was squawking more than normal--I heard him. And yeah, my dog and cat have exhibited strange behavior prior to quakes in NoCA, whether it be Tahoe, Bodie or the Bay Area. Perhaps, because I'm sensitive they are picking up my vibes. But hey, if you have gotten this far I'm totally floored--without a tremor. See below.

While other Floridians this week felt the drenching effects of Tropical Storm Alberto, one Jupiter resident minded more Earth-shaking matters.
Luke Thomas Holmquist, 41, forecasts earthquakes in Indonesia, Japan and California — and he does so in Dr. Doolittle-like fashion, monitoring the behavior of animals.

"They lose direction, get dizzy and wander off," he said. "(Or) they might jump on furniture or run around the house. "Each pet owner knows when a pet is acting strange."
Northern California's dogs, cats, birds and the like were behaving odd enough on Wednesday for Holmquist to forecast a 47 percent risk of a light quake there on Thursday morning. An earthquake with a 4.7 magnitude — considered light by U.S. Geological Survey standards in that it typically causes photos to fall from walls and dishes to drop from tables — struck an area of Santa Clara County.
