One other reason this place is so civil (usually) is that the members also have excellent B.S. meters. With this being just about the only place one can enter into a dialog with others about earthquakes, we all like to keep this place peaceful. If someone comes here as starts stirring the pot, it's not unusual for individual members to tell that person that their mode of behavior doesn't fly here. And Canie will just pull your plug if you get too out of line. I've seen her do it.
