Re: EQ Prediction Registry |
Hi Michael, I am all for the registry, but let me put this in the simpliest terms. If Keilis-Borok is allowed 9 months and 900 square miles then if I give a 30 day window, mostly 37.5 miles and occasionally 75 miles, that should be good enough. While magnitude is not always my problem, timing certainly is. Parkfield arrived in 27 hours and yet others show up darn near at 30 days. I don't have any control over that, so I'm not messing with Mother Nature. She gives me her clues and I've gotta make the best of it. So I think you should provide some latitude with this thing. It's up to the people who read it to determine if it is useful to them. Let me make a quick example. Suppose I'm telling that within 30 days there will be a 7.0 in Baja for instance. It could occur tonight or 30 days from now. But hey, that's a lot closer than within 9 months and somewhere between Baja, Nevada and Oceanside.
