If You Live in the Bay Area - You Should Read This

Hi All,

Yesterday the Menlo Park branch of the USGS added a new link to their web page which is the newest edition of Putting Down Roots in EQ Country for the San Francisco Bay Area.

This is an excellent piece which provides information needed for earthquake safety as well as fault maps, diagrams and many photos. I'm not sure, but I would surmise this was not supposed to be released until later this year or early next year, but in light of the difficulties following Hurricane Katrina, this was pushed forward. I'm delighted.

Please take some time to read the material. It's well done, informative and provides lots of good preparedness tips.

You'll see at some point the Rodgers Creek Fault has the highest probability of having a 7.0 earthquake in this region. Of course any fault could go at any time, so we all need to get ready.
