It is very hard for us to understand the enormity of the disaster because we only see it in parcels. I would very much like to see an hour long, or longer special in which they could provide ariel footage from the Gulf to the north and east to west.

Anything can happen anywhere and being unprepared on the personal or rescue front can present problems no one ever imagined. I would not wish to be in charge.

But this morning I took time to appreciate the simple things. As I washed my face in the sink, I appreciated being able to turn on the faucets and run the water and the same in the shower. And that other place as well which we frequently take for granted. I hope for the people there today that everyone there could have the same. I know the majority are.
