Some May Say "Thank You"

Canie,

I hope when schools are ready to open again that someone will have worked on those bus engines to get them ready for the need. I'm sure they will.

We are only months away from the largest media blitz since forever on earthquake safety thanks to the members of the Centennial Alliance. There are literally thousands of volunteers and hundreds of organizations who will participate in the remembrance of the 1906 earthquake.

In light of the lack of preparedness and a personal level, perhaps those who live in earthquake country will say Thank You to these folks who will break any record previously set in getting the word out. One great misconception is that people will find information on the web. They can, if they think of it or if they set it as a priority; but they usually don't.

One California event takes place every year at the beginning of school when the children are required to bring a snack or some kind of food that will be long lasting, a comfortable blanket and a photo of their loved ones in case they are separated during an earthquake. Some parents write notes and put them into the childs bag to reassure them that they will arrive, even if it takes a few days to get there. Those are good words.

I hope the disaster in the southeast will make everyone across the nation become prepared for whatever type of disaster they might be faced with in the future.
