Solar Activity and CME's

In today's Solar Report from http://http://solar.uleth.ca/ - Solar Terrestrial Dispatch - it says: STD: It appears yesterdays coronal mass ejection was almost entirely directed toward the northeast. However, there may have been a very minor Earth-ward component associated with that CME that could produce a minor impact at the Earth on 11 or 12 February. Todays long-duration C7/2F flare has also been confirmed to be associated with a coronal mass ejection. It is still a bit too early to be certain, but the latest data suggests there may have been a partial halo coronal mass ejection associated with this event, which would indicate the presence of an Earth-ward directed component that may reach the Earth on 13 February. ********************************************* Increased solar activity/geomagnetic field appears to have some affect on earthquakes - there is research being done on this possible link - if on;y to trigger quakes that are ready to 'go' - It would be interesting to know just where this would hit to give an idea as to quakes that may occur.
