Chris,

The foremost issue when trying to solve a problem is to look at it in as many ways as possible and gather as much information you can and be willing to go the distance to secure the solution.

It begins with a series of questions and finding logical answers to those questions. In regard to ear tone theory we have to ask some of these questions:

Why do earthquake faults make a sound, or send out a vibration that arrives to the listener as a sound? Because when rocks break they emit and electrical discharge and when its on a large scale, its makes a sound/vibration that some people can hear.

How many people hear it but think their ears are ringing? There is a distinct difference between ringing and tones, but the average person doesn't know it.

If the recipient receives the sound and can trace it back to the distance of 37.5 miles per second, why? I don't know. I need more information to arrive at a conclusion.

Now if I didn't take geology and I didn't understand seismology and I didn't pay attention to details, I would not be making this post today.

If anyone has not already noticed, there was another 3. quake east of Ensenada today. That makes 4 in the northern end of Baja in a couple of days. I hope nothing serious is in the offing. Personally I would take down anything that is valuable to me and put it in a safe place for 30 days. Remember, fine china doesn't like 5.0 earthquakes. I'm not saying one is coming, I'm saying one could be coming, but who knows when. Today, I don't know.
