John's suggestion not possible in this case

Petra, John, while I have a problem with your stating things that you believe as if they are generally accepted fact (they are not), as Petra, and anyone who hears eartones knows, John's advice will not work, although some modification of his idea might. there was a very interesting link from this page to NASA page just after the Nov. extreme meteor storm a couple years ago (was that the Leonids?). They were audible, but heard the same time as they were seen...which means some sort of electromagnetic radiation travelled at the speed of light to the ground near the observer, or perhaps inside their heads, where it was converted to something audible. the former chairman of the UCSB Geology department, Mike Fuller, now at Hawaii, did some work on magnetite in human heads...it is there, I recall. Let's see, fluctuating electromagnetic fields in presence of magnetite....I'd have to check my physics books from college...or wait until my daughter takes advance placement physics next year. I have not heard a really strong ear tone in years, but sometimes they seem like a real physical phenomenon...not only a strong tone, but a pressure. But, as I've posted here before, never heard by more than one person at the same time in my experience...so I certainly would not rule out some random event in the brain that has nothing to do with external stuff. Do I believe as more likely than nor that eartones are emitted from faults? No. Would I rule it out at 100%? No. Do I believe that the length of the eartone is NOT relatively precisely related to the distance to the earthquake at 90% confidence? Yes.
Hey, posts like this are why I usually post anonymously...I'd hate to have some reviewer do a search on my name to see if I am credible and have them find this post, out of context to my other posts and work.
Chris
