Weird Cat Behavior & tid bits

I thought I'd share this animal tid-bit because it could be quake related, but with no prior knowledge I can't say for sure, but it was weird anyway.

I have these two cats, both females, mother and daughter who apparently arrived in the neighborhood during spring time. The kids next door don't feed them right, so they come over, I feed them, when its cold or wet, they stay overnight.

This evening the mother cat came in the house when the PG&E man was here checking the heater and went totally nuts. She was running from one end of the house to the next. Up and down the furniture. My daughter said she'd never seen anything like it. The PG&E man said, "what's the matter with your cat?" So out she went.

I came home at near 5PM and the mother cat wouldn't come into the house and she always comes in to eat dinner. A few minutes later, I opened the back door and her daughter came a few feet into the house, turned around and ran out. Then the mother cat peeked her head inside and ran out. So I thought, ok, and put their dinner outside.

In my years of owning cats I know I've never seen anything like this before, but as I have not had these cats around except for a few months, I'm not positive about their behavior. It's different.

As an aside, one of our subjects in the ear tone research program had a dual ear tone the other night that was 5 seconds long and loud. Usually tones in both ears means there will perhaps be a local quake. Nothing is set in stone as they say, so no predictions on this kind of tone would be made. It's just an experience we need to learn to understand. It is rare. But it does happen from time to time.
