DH: I'm in Livermore. Saturday morning my battery-operated 'atomic clock' was more than 2 hours fast. It had been accurate all 6 years that I owned it and new batteries were installed recently, but I replaced them again and hit the clock's reset button. It searched all day for a signal but had corrected itself by Sunday morning. Yesterday about 3 a.m. my doorbell rang once. I thought out of state guests might have arrived early so looked through the door's peephole. Nobody was there and no car was parked in the driveway or street. Nothing else unusual has happened except that I haven't seen a bird or squirrel in the neighborhood all day. Most days many are around.
