There used to be some tendancy for significant earthquakes to occur during gatherings of earthquake scientists (usually SSA meeting). So, following Petra's lead, I'll give a CD of your choice to the best prediction that FOLLOWS THE RULES: locate (must have Latitude-longitude) a point (not an area) where you think the largest California earthquake...including offshore to base of slope, will occur during AGU meeting. It will be the NEIC list that decides. We will call the AGU meeting noon period Pacific time Sunday Dec 12 to 5 PM Pacific time Friday Dec 17. One entry per person.

It is only the location that matters for the contest. If you feel lucky, or psychic, feel free to add the precise time, and the magnitude...but the contest is a 5 day window, .

I'll probably not check my email during the meeting, so will let you know who won, if anyone enters, when I get back. Oh, yeah...always more interesting if you state what prediction is based on.

Man...it has been a lot of work to put my poster together....and not quite done yet.....but I got a lot done that will be useful for a paper and/or proposal.
