Anyone can get coffee at the coffee breaks. Aftershocks are complicated, in an earthquake the stress is released where the ground breaks, but loaded around the edges of the break. Sometimes, another earthquake comes soon, nucleating near the edge of the first rupture, but usually not. More aftershocks in an area can mean it is more dangerous than no aftershocks in an area, but we don't understand this process well. Have to run to teach a class.
