Re: Another major success? - Computer e-mail virus project O/T |
Hi EQF. You’re a day late and a dollar short. The previous ISPs and the current one I use have been blocking spam and viruses for at least 4 years now. However the problem isn’t with the ISPs. It’s with people who don’t protect their computers with a virus program of some sort that allows the spread of viruses. The other problem is that a lot of people don’t update their virus programs. When a new virus comes out it has to be discovered and then a program developed for it, then that update is sent out to their anti virus programs, which in turn updates the virus program that people have installed in their computers. It is true that most of the viruses are in e-mails, but there are also viruses on the internet. A hacker can get into an unprotected web site place a virus in it and the next person that looks at that web site downloads the virus into their computer if they don’t have a virus program installed in their computer. The best solution is to take care of your own security instead of waiting for someone else to do it for you.
