Hi EQF,

E-mail virus can easily be avoided by simply using a virus protection program that updates regularly. I have PC Cillan and I haven't had a virus arrive since I installed it months ago. Before that I had Norton and though the virus may have arrived it quaranteed it. Now I also have spam and virus protection through my ISP who filters my e-mail before it arrives in my box.

The methods are here and have been for years, its just that some people and companies do not use anti-virus programs and update them or use filtering services. The company I work for got tired of the spam and they hired an outside contractor to deal with the e-mail, just like I have at home. We don't get spams anymore and we never had a virus that wasn't quaranteened. It's not a small company either. We have five offices and 250+ employees.

Our legislature is trying very hard not to pass laws having to deal with the Internet and they like it to be the way it is in the most part. From time to time issues arrise and they are asked, but so far, they have declined. I agree, its best left alone from regulation, but there are some who chose to use it improperly.

There are laws in place now which deal with Internet threats and they work and quite effectively.
