I tend to agree that the Hokkaido and southern Siberia quakes are related somehow-but don't know how. I'm unconvinced that eartones have anything to do with quakes-I hear them, as do other people I know (probably most people), but it seems that they are never heard at the same time by others in the same place (in my case, anyway).
