Cathyrn, I'm not a seismologist-I'm a geologist who uses geophysics to study faults. I don't really study earthquakes-that is a hobby. So, I can talk about faults, southern California faults, with authority, and try and get people to apply a scientific appoach on this page, but I'm just a hacker at earthquake prediction. But, I do believe that we don't yet know if we can predict earthquake on short-term (1 week) because there are things (technology-based) that have not been tried yet. By the way, I did not post my web page because I was joking about my appearance-I'm actually dog-faced (do you like dogs?). But, I really did use my passport picture on my web page.
