Dominican Quake FFAs

Hi All. I know this isn’t going to settle anything in regards to FFAs of various quakes but if you look at the ring map for the Dominican quake you can see what appear to be two quakes associated with the 17-19 and 34-36 degree rings. One is the 34-36 degree ring. This would be the quake in Amarillo, Texas. The other is the 17-19 degree ring and the quake for this one would be the Jackson, Alabama quake. It would be nice if we could put the location of the quake in the ring map program and have it show up on the map as a dot. This way you could see the location of the quake in regards to the rings.

I will admit that seismologists and geologists know a lot about the Earth and how it works, but do they know everything. I will admit that I don’t know for a fact that the rings triggered those two quakes, but when you get quakes in an area that you don’t see quakes occur all that often it sort of makes you wonder.

I know a couple of seismologist who have told me more then once that what they know today to be factual and true may not be that way tomorrow. They are always looking for things that occur that they don’t understand. When they first came in contact with the FFA rings they said they could see no reason for it to occur, but that they did see it occurring and there had to be a reason. They just didn’t know what it was. To my way of thinking that is the signature of a true scientist. Nothing is set in stone so firm that it can’t be wrong. Take Care…Don in creepy town
