It is hard to take anecdotal patterns seriously when I consider the underlying theory suspect. Is there some convincing documentation that the pattern is real? Millions of earthquakes have been measured, so any signal that is visible just from looking at a world seismicity map after major quakes should leap out of a statistical analysis.
