Note To EQF

Hello EQF,

You said below "Finally, Don, if your friend Petra has decided to stop posting to this board then before she drifts completely away why don't you both prepare a summarized report on what you believe you have discovered regarding "Ear Tones" and post it here?"

3 of the 4 important factors in proving ear tones are indeed related to precursory phenomena are known, but #4 remains elusive. If #4 could be discovered, then it would not be a matter of patening it, it would be a scientifically papered report. There is no place in this world where I would print what I know today because then it becomes a matter of public knowledge and anyone who wants to use my years of research can claim it as their own, even with a patent. But the truth of the matter is that its a gift, and no one should make money off of it. And until it is conclusively proven, it has no value at all.

As for saying my water heater efforts seem to have some success, I think you rather short changed me on that one. But it doesn't matter in the big picture. The big picture says that there must be equality in the law. That was the reason I persued the legislation in the first place. I could see no reason homeowners should have earthquake safety code enforcements, while people who rent were seimically disadvantaged.

We cannot forever live in apathy, turn our heads into the sand and think California is never going to have another big earthquake. I believe during the Sylmar quake 500 water heater units went over, so if FIVE MILLION renters are at risk, then its not a small thing, but one he.l of a big one.

Its no secret that you and I are adversaries and always will be. The reason in a simple one. You make unsubstantiated claims about predictions and programs and yours truly doesn't. I am wrong some of the time, and right some of the time, but I don't hide behind "foreign e-mails" and discussions with so called scientists. I've stuck my stuff right out here in front of everyone to see for themselves. Its great when you're right and no so when you're not. But at least its honest and up-front.

However, I have one he.l of a lead on you bud. I've been in the presense of the so-called scientists, heard their personal views on prediction, what has the greatest potential for success or otherwise. I'm probably one of the few outsiders who has ever been so priviledged to hear the reports up close and personal. I'm also the only person on this board who has ever been in a position to contractually sign up to create a non-profit scientific earthquake prediction research program and the only one to be an invited guest of one of the Nature Debaters.

The best part of being an outsider is that I can listen and learn from the best there is/was in science with an open mind and a willingness to learn. I use the term was because there was one scientist who died last year who I loved very much. Thanks to his mentorship he saved my sorry a.s from making the biggest mistake of my life in trusting another scientist.

On the front lines in the future, I will have benefitted greatly from knowing how to do some good solid research and hopefully change something in America that is truly wrong. An injustice that has been going on for far to many years. I cannot ever say I have regretted the opportunities afforded to me by so many good scientists along the way.

My conclusion about these matters is that our lives have a path and if you follow the path for the good it does for humanity, no matter how small or large, you can never be sorry you had the experience. Today its time for you to stop grandstanding, do your research until you reach an unrefutable prediction program of your own that will stand through all of the rigorous scientific protocols just say you are working on it, not that it is a success when in fact it is not. If and when you've done that, then you can claim your success. Today you are like the wind, you blow in and out, puff up, but deliver absolutely nothing of value. Do this for them, not for you. If and when you ever change this ego driven attitude you have, you may find that if you follow your heart and do something to make the world a better place, the success you may have will be for someone other than you.

A police officer and a fireman go out every day and put their lives on the line to save other people. It is the most difficult work not only in the physical sense, but it tears them apart emotionally. They do it because they have a sense of calling, it isn't just a job. They don't do it because someone is going to give them a pat on the back and say, "good job Joe, you just saved victim #2030." And Joe says, "I know, but I lost 100 along the way." Joe feels worse about losing the 100 than he does about saving the 2030.

If we would all do what we do because we care about the welfare of other people and not the pat on the back for doing it, every problem in the world could be solved. I fully believe you can change if you want to and if you do, yes, people may survive and earthquake, but you will feel a whole lot differently about how it came to pass.

Imagine for a moment you are standing at a fork in the road. To the left is the one where you do meet with success, but there are ruts and bumps all along the way, because you just want everyone to know you're there. Then there is the turn to the right, its smooth, there is little if any opposition, because you have gathered strength in support of doing the right thing, which to leads to success, but success for mankind, but to you as well for having chosen the work for them and them alone.

Here's to caring - Petra
