Okay Folks,

Looks to me like there must be a 4.0 or greater out there just waiting to happen, so how about a contest to pique the interest in looking for it.

Here's the Rules:

1. California is divided in half. The Northern part is from Monterey to Mammoth and the Southern Part is from there to the border.

2. Pick 3 cities in both Northern AND Southern Segments where you think a 4.0 or greater quake may happen. You'll get a 40 mile radius around each picked city.

3. Time Window: From 4/3/03 12:01AM PST to 4/13/03 Midnight PDT.

4. The winner is the person who gets the greatest number of hits within the window time. So if you score 6 out of 6, you'll be the winner, unless there is a tie.

5. I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to play Judge and also make my entries, but it will be up to the board members to keep us all honest in the end.

6. Let's have some fun and everyone that can, please join in. Don't hang on the fence, get out your EQ map and pick your cities. Remember the first one's who make their posts are likely to beat out others who may want to pick the same cities, so be first and fast, or you could get aced out of your perfect guess.
