Re: deep aseismic slip in Pacific Northwest |
Hi John, Good article. Thanks for posting it. And when people tell me they can hear rocks emitting an electrical sound before an earthquake, I have to wonder how many years it will be until a scientist makes the same discovery. So we should do what is always best, tell them Columbus did arrive in America, not exactly on the route planned, but he arrived none the less. Yes, men did walk on the Moon. The Sun does not revolve around the Earth. Most women are more intuititive than men, but most men don't believe it. Women are more sensitive than men, but being insensitive seems to be a natural trait born by most men. If you have the title of a scientist, you deserve honor and recognition, but only until another scientist says you are wrong and removes your Ivory Tower. One medical doctor told me once that he was a captain in the military and at that time a medical doctor and that made him as close to God as one gets. In time I showed him that was impossible. I bought a new Chevy Tracker last weekend and today did what I always do when displeased with lousy service and being treated like a woman. I went in face to face, right up front and personal and told Ford I do not wear a stamp on my forehead that says, "born stupid." They netted my personal raspberry award. For those studying deep aseismic slip I hope the attention they receive is far better than some others who have claimed to make new discoveries. If not, I guess they'll have to learn to live without the Ivory Tower. Worse things could happen.
