Geologists and dress

There was a letter in, I think, EOS sometime in the last year or 2 on the subject that geoscientists look like such nerds that no one wants to be a geoscientist, and the field does not get the best students because the people in the field look like such losers. I'm serious-there really was this letter, and the letter was serious. It was probably written by a professor, who is dependent on students for his existence. I am not dependent on students for my existence, and figure the supply and demand situation for geoscientists has been poor since about 1983, so we need less of us, not more. So, I make sure not only to dress badly, but also not to bathe.
While we are off topic-wish me well-I'm playing in my annual hockey game tomorrow-against the Jersey Devils alumni-retired NHL players, including Valerie Kamensky, who is 11 years younger than I am, and who scored 40 goals in a NHL season. I'm preparing by drinking beer and posting here....Chris
