East African Rift (Lake Tanganyika) Earthquake (Ms 6.3)

The Ms 6.3 in the Lake Tanganyika area today was the largest event ever recorded within 200 km of that epicenter.

Look at the far-field forecast map from West Irian (October 10). Today's event lies 105 degrees from that earthquake (in the middle of the shadow zone edge).

A strong geomagnetic storm also began today beginning at about 00:UT. Lake Tanganyika was anti-solar at the time of the initiation of that storm.

Observations such as these may be important to some members of this board.
