Best Programming language followup

Earlier there was a question regarding which programming language to use.

I had suggested PERL, for it fit all the requirements needed.

Free, fairly easy to learn, Lots of routines
already out there, runs under windows or unix
and the code is portable, meaning if you design
under windows, you can run it under unix and
vice versa, unless you use something that is
windows specific (like a GUI interface).

Lastly, I found out today, there is a program
which is also free, which will convert your
perl programs to an .exe file so you don't even
need perl to run them, just to develope/write the
programs (makes distribution of the programs a lot
easier, since you don't have to install PERL to run the final product).

And that executabe, can also be made for unix as well, however, I don't believe the same executable will run on both.

Any questions, give me an email at g_gallen@hotmail.com I would be intrested
in helping out in any of the programming
if you need me to, as I'm very intrested in
EQ, and I've been programming computers for
over 20 years, including database programming
(however, not as much with PERL).
