Geomagnetic storm activity – warning signal lull |
The following discusses something which might be worth watching. My interpretation of the data at the following solar and geomagnetic storm Web sites is that we have just had an intense geomagnetic storm. And that storm could still be active to some extent. It has been proposed that strong seismic activity can follow those types of storms. And it might be worthwhile to watch and see if that happens. http://sec.noaa.gov/ftpdir/lists/costello/ace_pkp_15m.txt On that first Web page I myself watch the “Kp” column numbers. The earthquake warning type signals which I monitor have been at a low activity level for almost a week. The following report talked about another time when that happened and stated that I was watching to see if there would be any strong seismic activity when that low signal activity period ended. In fact those powerful earthquakes in Afghanistan and the Philippines in early March did occur after that quiet period ended. I am again watching to see if that will happen with this present quiet period. These are my personal opinions Follow Ups: ● Re: Geomagnetic storm activity – warning signal lull - Lowell 10:53:02 - 3/24/2002 (14057) (1) ● Re: Geomagnetic storm activity – warning signal lull - EQF 12:58:54 - 3/24/2002 (14062) (1) ● Re: Geomagnetic storm activity – warning signal lull - Lowell 14:35:36 - 3/24/2002 (14067) (1) ● Re: Geomagnetic storm activity – warning signal lull - EQF 07:24:15 - 3/25/2002 (14083) (0) ● Re: Geomagnetic storm activity – warning signal lull - Petra Challus 10:36:11 - 3/24/2002 (14056) (1) ● Re: Geomagnetic storm activity – warning signal lull - Don in Hollister 18:11:32 - 3/24/2002 (14071) (2) ● Re: Geomagnetic storm activity – warning signal lull - EQF 07:55:47 - 3/25/2002 (14088) (0) ● Re: Geomagnetic storm activity – warning signal lull - EQF 07:24:23 - 3/25/2002 (14084) (0) |
