Earthquake Tracker

Hi All. I thought maybe you would like to see what a signal would look like using the ELF data from the “earthquake tracker” link.

According to Tom the threshold they are using is 3.5 and up. This is for a quake of 5.0Ml and larger. As you can see it wasn’t very steady until 10 days before the quake. The reason for the drop at the time of the quake was a power failure.

According to Tom if it holds for 3 days at any point above 3.5 they go to the area with a portable unit to check it out. Cars or other large metal objects can cause a change in the magnetic field of the area. The range on the monitors is about 20 miles so it’s conceivable that more then one monitor will detect the change.
