Thanks, Petra, for your extensive comments. I've heard Deep, Dark, and Ugly twice now. (Don has the recorded times, and I believe they sync up with yours.) This is a tone I have never heard before. It is deep. It is loud. It is long.

I still think that your excerpted questions from the good doctor's book are more to entice the reader to buy than inform. Obviously he knows his stuff, but he's not coming out with it until someone shells out the dough. The list of hypotheticals was nothing but that. I could have written that list, and I have no training in his field.

I'm still skeptical. I don't think he's a huckster, but if he does claim to know where and when the Big One will strike, and witholds this info (even if erroneous) from the general public to make money off his book...well, in my book that is egregious.
