Earthquake research organization |
EARTHQUAKE RESEARCH ORGANIZATION In notes which I have posted to Internet Newsgroups, bulletin boards, and Web sites I have stated that I feel that the science of forecasting earthquakes is now sufficiently advanced that if a formal research organization were to become involved with this then an effective global earthquake forecasting program could probably be developed without too much trouble. It does not appear that there are any organizations interested in that type of effort. Or at least I have never been able to find one. So, I am going to see if I can create one myself. Its primary goal will be developing conventional and unconventional procedures and technology for saving lives and reducing health risks for people around the world, not just forecasting earthquakes. Preliminary discussions with legal personnel got underway last week. I am not expecting to see too much in the way of rapid progress. But even some slow progress has to be better than none at all. These are my own opinions.
