Dakotas.....Well my only ethos meeting in Dakotas was a meeting with a Native American by the name of June Bug...who was appealing a murder conviction in Federal Court....He happened to be in jail and me too...The stories he told me about living on the reservation in the 50's and 60's...I was numbed by the tales of poverty...dirt deep poverty...Oddly enough he told me the only reason he killed this man was because he was black and stole from elders on the reservation on his trip through the Dakotas.....He said he and another Native American caught the man and knew he would never be punished....so they hung him...I do not know what ever happened...This was in 1963...Strange I haven't thought about that for over 35 years...
The Rez is in poverty to this day and the "goons" that lived in the 70's and through Leonard Peltier are still alive...still skimming...and...the state can be a long torcher to drive through both in winter and summer when temp extremes are harsh...Tell me what place in the Dakotas did you have in mind.

Oh....I was in the same large cell which was called the federal holding tank. I was 17 and AWOL...I didn't do anything worse than that...be young and stupid...well some might say I am now old and eccentric!
