Earthquake Forecasting and Note to Pavel and Shan – April 22, 2013

In earlier notes I stated that I am making gradual efforts to put pressure on U.S. Policy Makers to get the U.S. government to take a serious interest in the science of earthquake forecasting. If all goes according to plan, this coming week or perhaps next week I am planning to circulate a report that should put a tremendous amount of pressure on them to do that.

Other subjects will be discussed in that report such as our need for new sources of environmentally safe, affordable energy and how cities could protect Marathon runners and spectators from the type of tragic violence we saw here in the U.S. last week.

Pavel and Shan,

As I have also said in the past, with these forecasting efforts I am planning to point to your Web sites and state that these are examples of forecasting programs that the U.S. and other governments should be trying to get evaluated and developed if appropriate.

Pavel’s Web page on my own Web site will not be referenced in my reports because I will have my name on the printed reports that I will be circulating. It cannot be found anywhere on my Web site. And I don’t want U.S. personnel to have official records connecting my Web sites and my name though they actually know who I am. I am also fairly certain that they know that I am running those Web sites. I work on a wide variety of projects including gun safety efforts. And there are personal safety issues that are important here. Some of the gun advocates here in the U.S. have gone off the deep end in the opinion of many people including myself. And it is best to avoid having any contact with them.

Pavel, once again, I feel that you should try to have your ground tilt data made available on some Internet Web site. They could be stored on one of my sites if you wish.

Pavel and Shan, I have a plan in mind that might make it possible for you both to have your forecasting sensors be put into use at quite a few locations around the world. It might take a month or two to put that particular plan into action.

If you have any comments on those forecasting plans then just let me know. No rush on that.

These are personal opinions.
