Sandi, I happened to keep the page from the CA USGS maps. This was Version 5: Magnitude:3.0,Time 26Sep199 01:12:49PM PDT, Location 14 mi. WNW of Victorville 32 mi. WSW of Barstow 13 mi. SW of the Helendale Fault, Event ID 9106286. Your friends really did feel something! It's happened before,but I think it so odd. Maybe they have some kind of a system's glich??
