Diane...we have had a stray cat up in our rafters for severa days now. We scared it out once and it has come back and won't leave. I did leave the garage open for several hours last night so that it would leave while we weren't there to scare it. But it meowed all night and is still in there. Something is scaring this poor kitty and I think this is very strange behavior. Especially now that you say chip is hiding too.
