Re: Don's Northern California prediction (again) |
Hi Lowell. There is an outside chance that the current geomagnetic storm (even though it’s a bit anemic) may have triggered this quake. It has been noted in the past that a geomagnetic storm has the chance of trigger a quake a little bit earlier then it should have occurred. The conditions in that area are volcanic in nature, but after viewing the seismogram this quake doesn't appear to be related to anything volcanic. I will admit though that I'm still not able to tell the difference between a high velocity volcanic quake and a small tectonic quake. This is most likely the forecasted quake, but for now I will say that there may be another one that just might be a tad bit larger then today's quake. What's interesting is the number of quakes that occurred today. To me this indicates that the triggering was more general in nature as opposed to being specific. The Coso Volcanic Fields is a good indication of a general nature as this has been seen to many times during and after a geomagnetic storm. Anyway it's always good to see the old tummy is still working.
