M4.7 strike-slip Oklahoma |
See link. Is strike-slip consistent with ENE-WSW maximum principle horizontal stress (although a quake is strain, not stress). Much of central and eastern USA has this stress field, although the Virginia M5.8 quake has ESE-WNW shortening (strain term) I think (not checking).
