Re: Background Noise February 16, 2011 |
Continuing with what I stated in my other “Background Noise” post, This present thread was started so that people could make comments unrelated to that Earthquake Precursor Project subject matter if they wished without interfering with the intended discussion. It has usually been my pleasant experience in the past that when scientists make a request like that regarding an important subject, especially one that could involve matters of life and death, other scientists will afford them the courtesy of not deliberately interfering with their efforts. SOLUTIONS FOR THE PROBLEM With electronics systems there are a variety of procedures that can be used to improve the signal to noise ratio. Converting the signal into a digital form as early as possible in the detection process is one of the most productive and widely used of those procedures. One of the procedures being developed to eliminate that previously mentioned EarthWaves Bulletin Board “Background Noise” problem is a new Internet Bulletin Board or Forum. And one of the basic posting rules will be that “Noise” posts won’t be allowed. See my latest Update for my previous Earthquake Precursor Project posting for more information regarding that bulletin board development effort.
