Folks:

I went to Mary Maya's link in her post below.

She reports, similar to Petra, the following:

(need to go to second entry further down the page for 11 May 01 ...when she heard many tones throughout the day)

"late PM vaguely recall a h.p. rt tone, no pr 15 secs @ 3 intensity *sometime between 8 pm and midnight? " (She also had a similar mention for the following night after 8 pm).

Petra reported (as shown in post above):
Based on right ear tone that lasted 19 seconds and was very loud, earlier this evening."

Note the following "coicidental" similarities for both:

1) Heard tone about the same time period (PM, 11 May 01)
2) Heard it in the right ear only
3) Heard it about the same duration (15 vs 19 secs).

Mary states that she is located south of San Jose.
If Petra revealed where she was when she heard the tone then perhaps a bearing vector to the future epicenter may be determined based:

a) Duration of tone heard possibly
b) Spatial relationships between all of those who "heard" the tone (which is just Petra and Mary in this case...though I have not checked other boards for more data).

Another possibly find here is that if you take 1000 tone hearers and put them in a room and subjet them to the same "precursor" stimulus then it may be found that the systematic response of the listeners is uniform in that the right or left ear(s) will likewise all exhibit the same response. This finding in and of itself lends credibility to creating an earthquake warning system based on a network of "certified" or "authenticated" EQ Ear Tone Hearers who could conceivably save millions of lives (ok...Tens of thousands of lives anyway).

This phenemena could be huge when properly pursued through a properly funded and staffed scientific inquiry. (I know Japan burns about $100M a year on this topic...but this area of study might not be considered "science" enough in order to be pursued.)

As far as I know, there has been no communications between Petra and Mary Maya except by way of this board making this a bonafide observation.
