Re: Might not work |
That prediction registry was just the first one that I saw and used as an example. There are others out there. I can’t see where they serve any purpose at the moment and have not bothered paying any attention to them. Several times a week on the average I have some type of communication with earthquake researchers around the world. And I have a moderately good idea regarding what is taking place and what needs to be done. The present movement and need appears to be in the direction of getting various types of forecasting data organized so that researchers around the world can see and evaluate them. And probably the only practical way of doing that is through the use of a CGI program running at some Web site. People need to be able to identify trends in the data such as multiple precursors pointing the same location. Unfortunately, there are not that many people who can do CGI work. And so far I have not been able to locate anyone interested in such a project though I have not done much searching. So, if you can write those programs you could probably be quite helpful to international researchers. Roger can write regular computer programs but does not have any CGI experience as far as I am aware. And I just don’t have the time myself. If you are determined to head in another direction then I still wish you luck. The goal here is to try to save some lives. And if someone can get a particular approach to work then that helps. This CGI organization project is one that I have been recommending that people use for years as you can see from that 124.html Web page. And according to the last report that I saw on this, the people running the enormous state supported forecasting program in the People’s Republic of China are presently involved with that type of effort. I saw a report that talked about the computer technology they were going to purchase. So, this is what the professionals are doing. I believe that it would make sense to follow their lead.
