They are, apparently, the number one producers of methane on the planet, a fact often sited by vegetarians who don't take their logic one step further: in order to combat all that methane released each year, all those cows would have to be slaughtered anyway. I guess a one-time kill is preferable to the continual cycle of cow/dairy consumption we have going new.
