China is getting a good network, so we might see a fairly detailed rupture model before long for this earthquake. In terms of the distribution of shaking, strike-slip often generates strong pulses in the direction of the rupture propagation, but thrust faults both seems to have rupture progress less smoothly along strike and has a node rather than the SH lobe in that direction for the strike-slip.
