we don't all agree that earth is warming |
John, a distinction. 99% of climate scientists, probably 99% of AGU members, agree that earth is warming, and that it is caused by increasing levels of CO2. But, some large percentage of professional geologists do not believe it. I had dinner with a group of professional geologists a year and a half ago and not a single one believed man affected climate, and one disputed that we are even warming. Because 2007-2008 winter was coolest since 2001 (or something like that) on earth, now the skeptics are out there trying to say there is no problem. From my first ExxonMobil post in a thread below. This was a climate conference held in New York March 2008, funded in part by front organizations for ExxonMobil (its very simple to prove this, you jsut cross-compare ExxonMobils contribution list to the web sites of the recipients). The speakers were paid. “The event, which garnered significant international and U.S. media attention, featured many current and former UN IPCC scientists from around the world. The international climate conference built on the momentum of growing number of skeptics as the conference showcased a new report by a team of international scientists who formed a group to counter the UN IPCC called the “Nongovernmental International Panel of Climate Change” (NIPCC). The skeptical scientist report was titled “Nature, Not Human Activity, Rules the Climate.” Key findings of the NIPCC’s climate findings: Follow Ups: ● propaganda vs ignorance - John Vidale 08:55:12 - 5/1/2008 (73764) (2) ● don't you have to teach intro? - heartland chris 09:26:41 - 5/2/2008 (73775) (1) ● no general course - John Vidale 17:48:42 - 5/2/2008 (73778) (0) ● warmest or 2nd warmest global March on record - heartland chris 09:22:57 - 5/2/2008 (73774) (0) |
