Glen, the link is wettest winters, not wettest years. Your earthquake list is good as far as I know for that half of the equation. What we need are monthly rainfall amounts for 1 (or 2 or 3) places in the area of the Wabash quakes.
(or, if someone was into it, could also get Mississippi river levels for New Madrid if the guage there has been there a long time).

From what you linked, I can't tell whether there might be a relation or not.

Again, up to you whether you are curious enough to pursue this...I'm just curious but it is you who are spending the time.
