no major strike-slip in Central California

I am checking the Pacific Section AAPG meeting abstracts (March 31-April2) for stuff on Palos Verdes. I ran into the following abstract that starts:

"Geology of Central California
Ron Crane
Regional strike-slip faults do not exist in Central California. The San Andreas, Calaveras, Hayward and other designated faults owe their origin to compressional forces, and represent terrane boundaries "

I was aware of this guys work: I reviewed a paper by him. I'll skip the editorial comments here because I'm curious what you guys have to say about this abstract.
