Re: Can I have a puppy? |
This whole conversation could go way off on a tangent.. it may not be the best thing for this board.. I breed cats.. don't sell thru pet stores. But I will say that getting a pet, be it a dog or a cat, thru a respectable breeder, you get a pet that can fit your lifestyle - given size, and personality traits. Getting a pet from a shelter you haven't a clue as to temperament, behavior, socialization issues and health problems... I don't condone pet store pets as they are often from cat or puppy mills rather than a reputable breeder - unfortunately, PETA is out to shut down all breeding and if we aren't very careful, there will be no more pets available in the United States. So there's a population control for you - PETA is pushing/lobbying legislation thru city, state and federal channels to shut down all responsible breeding, legislating mandatory spay/neuter of all pets.. Maybe this is the way to handle population control for the humans - pass a federal law - NO MORE BABIES! MANDATORY SPAY/NEUTER all the humans.. and then make all countries follow suit.
