Chris, I agreed with you. After recent M8.4 and 7.9 quakes, Sumatra subduction zone release stresses continuously. Definitely this is not the same situation what prevails during Dec. 2004, I remember. But I want to curious to note about expert’s ’distance quake may trigger another quake’ theory. Ofcourse M8.1 and 7.9 in 2004 is comparatively less this time as M7.3 over NORTH OF MACQUARIE ISLAND and AUCKLAND ISLANDS respectively and may yield only strong quake. But I want to know the extant of released stress to push the Indo-Australian plate at the subduction zone of Sumatra though I have registered a stress accumulation pattern over 3N-96E by latest. Let us watch.
